How we buy, check and sell
Catalex Cars is a used-car dealership in Torrevieja. The cars you see in our stock are ours: we buy them, we check them and we sell them to you directly. We are not a classifieds portal and we are not a middleman — we are the seller, and we answer for what we sell.
Step by step
- Browse the stock. Filter by make, model, fuel, gearbox or body type until you find the car you want.
- Open the car’s page. Real photographs of the actual car, technical data, mileage and price.
- Tell us you are interested. Fill in the form or call us. We reply during business hours and answer your questions before you make the trip.
- Come and test drive it. We are at Calle Avilés, 6, in Torrevieja. You can drive the car and, if you prefer, have it inspected by a mechanic of your choice.
- We sign and you drive away. We take care of the contract, the change of ownership and the DGT paperwork. The car is handed over with its documents in order and with the legal warranty.
What the purchase includes
- Legal guarantee of conformity. The one Spanish law grants to private buyers of a used vehicle, with no conditions that cut it short.
- Transfer and paperwork. We handle the change of ownership and the formalities with the traffic authority (DGT).
- Documents in order. Valid ITV (roadworthiness test), technical data sheet and registration document.
- A clear price. We tell you from the start what the price includes and which costs are charged separately.
Finance and insurance
If you need to finance the purchase or arrange insurance, we can put you in touch with specialist providers. We only pass your details to a third party if you expressly ask us to.
We speak English and Spanish
Many of our customers are international residents in Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa, Guardamar del Segura and across the Vega Baja. We explain in your own language how buying a car in Spain works: which documents you need, which taxes are payable and how long each step takes.
Guide to buying a car
Struggling to get your head around what to do to buy a car? Not sure if you are buying the right car? Or maybe not sure about the place you are buying it from?
Are they a reputable dealer? Ask around, look at Google reviews, do some research.
Do they have a licence to sell cars? Check with your local Town Hall or local Police. Ask the dealer if they have a licence — it should be on display for you to see.
What warranty do they give? The law states that from a dealer you MUST be given a one year warranty. Anything less is ILLEGAL.
Who covers the warranty? Is it a warranty backed by the dealer, or one they have bought from an independent company? If it is not backed by the dealer, you could end up having to deal with someone else if you have problems — you speak Spanish, right?
Is the mileage correct? Look for signs of wear on the side of the driver seat, the steering wheel and the top of the gear lever. Ask for any history on the vehicle, and check the registration number on the DGT (Spanish traffic authority) website — there is a small cost for this.
WE HOPE THIS HELPS YOU FIND THE RIGHT CAR FOR YOU
